Zetco Foot Valves and Y Strainers
A foot valve is a check valve which is located at the inlet end of the suction line of a pump, allowing the pump to remain full of liquid even when not in service. Foot valves incorporate mesh to prevent debris from entering the pump while it is in operation. Y Strainers are designed to protect piping system components such as pumps, meters, control valves, steam traps, regulators etc. from damage caused by dirt or debris in flowing liquids or gases. These particles are removed by means of a perforated or wire mesh straining component. This mesh is generally available in either a fine or coarse grade, depending on the size of the particles to be filtered.
Zetco has a wide range of foot valves and strainers that suit a variety of applications. Y strainers are available in both flanged and threaded options with NPT available upon request. The range also features a unique combination of a ball valve and y-strainer in DZR Brass. Options of materials includes DZR brass, bronze, stainless steel and cast iron. Flanged foot valves are drilled upon request to table D, E, DIN 16 and ASNI 150.
Filter baskets when combined with spring loaded check valves make excellent foot valves for non-brackish applications. Non-standard micron filters in various sizes are available upon request. Sizes are available in 6mm to 200mm.
