3-way ball valves converge and divert fluid flow in a piping system. 3-way valves are typically used because they can do the job of two 2-way valves.
The port configuration is of prime importance when selecting a 3-way valve. Ports must be specified to meet piping installation and flow switching requirements. 3-way ball valves generally have quarter turn operation, however 180° turn is also available. 3-way ball valves may also be pneumatically actuated, and are available in either "L" or "T" port configurations, depending on flow switching requirements.
